Bio

I graduated high school in Salt Lake City, where I was born and raised. Although my dad was a professor at the University of Utah where I could've gotten cheap in-State tuition, I chose to attend the U of O in Eugene because I've always wanted live in Oregon, having had so many great family camping adventures in our VW van as a kid all over the State. After getting my Bachelor's degree in English, I soon realized that tutoring and teaching English as a 2nd language wasn't going to make much money, so I decided to get my MBA from Heriott-Watt in Edinburgh, Scotland. I'd always loved Scotland's natural beauty and history and the Royal Chartered school had a curriculum that strived to stay relevant and current. After school, I worked for InterContinental Hotels Group in their sales division for a few years, then decided I wanted to help build an import company with a friend of mine in San Francisco; after 4 years, which included 18 trade shows a year (involving lots of after-hours socializing), I'd built relationships with all sorts of manufacturers from around the world, visited their homes and facilities and built a successful import business. After a time, I decided the Bay Area was too crowded and frenetic for me, so I built a sales rep firm which sold the products I'd been working with to garden centers across the U.S. After lots of traveling, I decided to settle down in Bend, a place I'd loved since college. I opened Pottery House in Tumalo on September 2020 and bought a house on a couple of acres 5 minutes up the road. I couldn't be happier!
